Weekly Report Writer — SKILL.md

A ready-to-use Claude Skill that takes a week's raw material - notes, task lists, messages - and produces a consistent weekly report: shipped, in progress, blocked, and next week, with numbers where numbers exist. Same structure every week, which is what makes weekly reports readable.

# Weekly Report

## Procedure
1. Gather everything provided for the week. Sort each item into: SHIPPED (done), MOVING (in progress), BLOCKED (waiting on something), NEXT (planned).
2. Quantify wherever the material allows: counts, percentages, amounts. If a number is implied but not stated, leave the gap visible - do not estimate.
3. For every BLOCKED item, name what it waits on and who can unblock it.

## Output format
**Week of [date range]**
- Headline: one sentence - the week's single most important outcome.
- Shipped: bullets, each under 15 words.
- Moving: bullets with percent or stage where known.
- Blocked: bullets in the form "[item] - waiting on [thing/person]".
- Next week: the 3 commitments, in priority order.
- Metrics: a compact table of any numbers the week produced.

## Standards
- Total length under 400 words.
- No adjectives about effort ("hard", "busy") - outcomes only.

How to install it

Create a folder for the skill: .claude/skills/weekly-report-writer/ in your project, or ~/.claude/skills/ for all projects
Save the file above as SKILL.md inside that folder

Adjust the standards section to your house rules; that section is written to be edited
